TAN Registration

TAN or Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number is a 10digit alpha numeric number required to be obtained by all persons who are responsible for deducting or collecting tax. It is compulsory to quote TAN in all TDS/TCS returns (including e-TDS/TCS return), TDS/TCS payment challans and TDS/TCS certificates.

As per section 203A of the Income Tax Act, 1961, it is mandatory for all assesses’s liable to deduct TDS to quote this TAN number in all communications regarding TDS with the Income Tax Department and failure to do so attracts a penalty of Rs.10000/-. TDS returns and payments would not be received by the Banks if TAN is not quoted.

EXCLUSIONS

Fresh application fee if registration applicable is rejected due to any discrepancies in documents of the applicant.
